Tell us about yourself:

I work at a café in Tampico, México. It’s a fun city surrounded of water, like beaches, rivers and lagoons and very addicted to coffee!
I’ve been working at DegasCafé for 13 years and this year will be my 8 year competing. This is the second time I have the pleasure to be on a World Stage so I’m absolutely excited about this!

When I started at coffee I didn’t even like coffee, but the fun fact is that I still love my job because I really was excited to get to the cafe everyday and see my usual customers. I have met a lot of people as barista working at a cafe and competing, the human connection that is involved in the coffee industry is what I like the most.

For now I’m green buyer for our project EspressoLab by DegasCafé, we roast coffee and have some shop in shops and sometimes I still cover some shifts which is very fun too!

What are you excited to do while you visit Busan?

Especially cafes and to know consumption culture in South Corea! I’m excited to try the food which everyone talks about, they say it’s delicious! Also I have planning to do some tourism after competition in Busan and Seoul.

What are your interests outside of coffee?

I really like to do hand craft stuff, it’s super relaxing and I’m always trying to decorate my home with new pieces that I make.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?

For sure! Many people.
But I’ll start with my Boss Emerico, he is the best boss someone can ever have! He is so supportive and passionate about coffee. He is always looking for people to grow up as a professional and in a personal way! So, thank you for all you have done for me.

My coaches Ben and Jill which have supported me a lot. They believed in me, they cheer me up and it’s so good to have people by your side that are looking out for you!

My team from EspressoLab and DegasCafé that always cover me in activities so I can get focus on competition, also their good attitude, kindness and passion are very inspiring for me!

And of course my friends and family, without their love I will not be the person that I Am now.

Thank you all!
